The 2008 Elections - Who Should Christians Support?

"Don't team up with those who are unbelievers. How can goodness

be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?"

2 Corinthians 6:14

As faithful Christians who have bonded ourselves to the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul, we have an obligation to go to the Bible to gain instructions on how we should vote in the 2008 elections. Jesus did not die in vain. He died so that we would be spiritually reborn, filled with His Spirit and have a renewed mind. With guidance from the Bible, our renewed minds can correctly discern how we should be voting in this critical 2008 elections. As Christians, we are never instructed to compromise our values or commitment to God.

The political systems of the world are constantly seeking ways to manipulate Christians. Unfortunately, secular political leaders have been very successful at infiltrating churches and luring Christians into making ungodly decisions. The end result of this infiltration has been Christians making covenants with deceptive politicians. We are now on the brink of seeing America become one of the most ungodly and anti-christian nations on the planet. What do we do to bring political revival to America and turn this nation back from the dark path it has been going down?

We need a national miracle. Only God can save us now. However, God will not move miraculous on our behalf if we are continuing to be disobedient in our decision making. There are too many Christians who are seeking God for miracles, but they still continue to make decisions which are blantantly disobedient to the teachings of the Bible. God will not move where there is disobedience.

Jesus said in John 12:46 -- "I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believes in Me should not abide in the darkness." We are commanded by the Lord in this passage to remove ourselves from living in the darkness. The term darkness is defined as "ignorance of divine things, and its associated wickedness, and the resultant misery in hell."

We cannot claim to be servants of the Lord at the same time that we are making decisions which lead to the empowerment of ungody political leaders in our nation. We cannot buy into this manipulative idea of "voting for the lesser of two evils." This squandering of our Christian heritage by voting for a candidate who is less evil than his or her opponent is still voting for a evil person. Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "How can goodness partner with wickedness?" If we are truly seeking God for a national revival based upon the Word of God, we dare not give our support to those who are in rebellion to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

In order for us to see true Christian and political revival in our nation, we must take bold and decisive action. We can no longer afford to cast our vote for those who we cannot confirm as Christians. It is most prudent to remind ourselves of the timely Biblical scripture which says, "Do not cast your pearl before swine." Our vote is our pearl. Our vote is our seed. Our vote is our destiny! Let us only plant our seed in the good soil of worthy candidates during this 2008 election season.

On Saturday, January 26th, we had our first meeting of the San Diego Christian Chamber of Commerce. With fourteen Christian business leaders in attendance and those interested in bringing the business community together for the Cause of Christ, this first monthly meeting was a real success. Our website is already being developed: San Diego Christian Chamber of Commerce and will include an extensive directory of Christian businesses, organizations and Christians offering their goods and services to the community. We are currently developing our protocol for accepting members. We will be establishing a scholarship fund for Christian students wanting to further their education but do not have the financing to do so. Each meeting will have a continental breakfast. Medical Report From James Hartline

As many of you know, I have been suffering with great pain in my neck and back. I have been told that without proper medical help, I could end up being permanently disabled in my spine. I need to raise $3,000 to begin the critical treatments called "spinal decompression." This involves 36 treatments with a Christian chiropractor where he places me in a machine to stretch my spine and discs back into proper alignment. So far, I have received $1,200 in contributions towards these procedures. Anyone who would like to help me in this area, I would greatly appreciate it. I need to raise $1,800 more before I can start the treatments.

Also, anyone that lives in the San Diego area who would like to go to the YMCA gym and be my Christian partner in excercise, I would greatly appreciate it as well. I am fighting the AIDS virus, so it is very important that I keep myself in top physical shape, especially since I am running for the San Diego City Council. I live in a neighborhood where there are not too many Christians and that is where the gym is. So, if you would like to get in physical shape and excercise as a Chrsitian team, just let me know!

Voter Apathy Hurts Our Children's Prospects of Liberty

I held Grace on my lap recently, my three-year-old little girl who lightens up the room with a broad, dimpled smile that appears to make up half her face. She looked up at me and said in her squeaky voice, "I wanna be married!"

"You do?" I said with a grin.

"Uh huh," she nodded and said, "like Mommy."

Later as I recalled our memorable exchange, I tried to wonder what she would be like when her father is a fading memory and her grandchildren are starting families of their own. What kind of nation are we going to hand down to her children? Will they be as free as we are?

Considering the freedoms lost from the 1960's until now, we would be naïve to think that Americans forty years from now are likely to enjoy the same freedoms that we appreciate; just like we are not enjoying the liberties our grandparents took for granted.

There is a tremendous apathy to politics right now that frankly frightens me. Tens of thousands of Americans have died for our liberties, but how many of us even bother to vote to preserve those liberties? In the last Presidential election, 78 million Americans who were eligible to vote stayed home. Much fewer bother to vote in the primaries. When we do vote, do we make our decisions based upon an educated evaluation of the issues and the candidates' positions, or empty rhetoric?

The corruption of so many of our leaders certainly has a negative effect on voter turnout. The public has the impression that our vote doesn't really count, that the direction in which the state or country is headed doesn't really change, regardless of who wins the election. So many of our representatives say what needs to be said to get elected, but do not fulfill their promises. For example, many of them claim to be pro-life to secure our vote, yet do not pass laws to protect the unborn. Many of them have not kept their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, with its limitations on state power, but have increased the size and scope of the government through irresponsible state spending and "pork" for projects in their district to help them get re-elected.

Hold it, lest we jump too prematurely on the bandwagon of carelessly criticizing our elected officials; we must remember that disapproval of our representatives is disapproval of the electorate, because we put them in office. It is an embarrassing fact that they represent us all too well. Why do our leaders refuse to deal with the difficult issues, like the impending bankruptcy of social security, like the flood of illegal immigration, like the killing of preborn children that are mature enough to survive outside the womb, like deficit spending, like judicial activists that invent rights in the Constitution that the Founders never intended and trespass constitutional checks and balances? Why do our representatives seem to only prescribe legislative remedies for the problems that will affect their next election? Let's humbly admit the painful truth: because that's what we are like. They are near-sighted, because we are. They are poor stewards of the public treasury because the public is a poor steward of its vote. We've got the leaders we deserve.

We are at a crossroads in our nation and in Ohio right now, and the leaders we choose will make decisions that will affect us and our children for hundreds of years. The liberty of our posterity is at stake. Will our grandchildren have free speech rights and religious freedom? Will unchecked illegal immigration and porous borders make them live in fear of crime and terrorism? Will they be able to own a gun for self-defense? Will productive jobs be plentiful, or will they be dependent on state handouts to survive? Will the legalization of physician-assisted suicide and infanticide follow on the heels of the legalization of abortion? Our leaders will make decisions today that will affect whether our children and grandchildren can be free and prosperous. We must be diligent to remain free; entropy tends to tyranny. In order to secure the liberty of our children and grandchildren, we must take a more eager interest in the character, the experience, and the proposals of those campaigning to be our public servants.

The persecution of religious minorities and the forced abortion of unlicensed children have not always been legal in China. Same-sex marriage has not always been legal in the Netherlands. Immorality like this becomes legal when citizens grow apathetic to the leaders they elect and tolerate. Did you know that in Nazi Germany, 90% of German Lutheran bishops endorsed Hitler? Hitler was, to borrow a contemporary phrase, "the lesser of two evils" compared to the threat of Communism. Nazi tyranny and genocide came into existence not as a result of overthrowing the democratic process, but as a result of it. Not in spite of the voting block of Christians, but as a consequence of it. Those who do not learn from history are bound to repeat it. We must not be so full of pride to think that we are more righteous than they and less deserving of judgment. More Americans died by abortion with a Republican president and with a Republican congressional majority from 2000 to 2006 than all the Jews that were killed in the Nazi Holocaust.

Proverbs 29, verse 2 says, "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." You and I may never personally mourn as a result of the leaders who exploit our apathy to come into power, but our grandchildren may. With God's help, we can turn the tide and return to the law of nature and nature's God in the way that we govern ourselves. With God's help, we can bring just and upright leaders into positions of public service. We must be worthy of just leaders. We must be diligent to remain free. We must get involved, we must investigate, we must inform others, and we must vote. For the sake of your children and grandchildren, for the sake of liberty, for the sake of those who died to make us free, please vote on March 4^th.

(Campaign 2008) Everyday, the municipal government of San Diego takes even more shallow breaths than it took the day before. The time of San Diego's impending bankruptcy, both morally and financially, is at hand. The once brilliant heritage of this great southern California metropolis is becoming as cold as a corpse. Above the morbidly tarnished ivory towers of this second largest city in California, the political vultures are circling and readying themselves to feed on whatever money has not been stolen from San Diego's mournful taxpayers.

There is one political vulture who is circling San Diego's municipal carcass more hungrily than any other. He is circling his prey - a truly rabid opportunist. He is the political beast better known as former Las Vegas politician-turned millionaire Steve Francis. A real flip-flopping political chameleon, Steve Francis has once again declared himself a candidate in the 2008 San Diego mayoral race.

Salivating at the sight of stumbling incumbent Mayor Jerry Sanders, candidate Steve Francis is ready to raid the once glorious city that was founded upon the blood of Spanish missionaries. Those ancient Catholic travelers who layed down their lives to establish California's first Mission in San Diego would see the current escapades of Steve Francis as a cruel assault on a city already haunted by a legacy of immoral and corrupt political leaders. However, there is one current Steve Francis escapade that is perhaps more putrid than all of his other devilish dances combined. Steve Francis has now joined transvestite activist Nicole Murray Ramirez to endorse a proposal to replace San Diego's official city slogan, "America's Finest City," with a new slogan and a theme with extensive ties to San Diego's Biotech industry.

The new official city slogan being proposed by artist George Mullen is called "City of Life." Joining mayoral candidate Steve Francis and transvestite activist Nicole Murray Ramirez to endorse the City of Life proposal are some of the most radical left-leaning political leaders in San Diego, as well as some of the most powerful names in the biotech and embryonic stem cell industry. Included in the endorsement list in support of the City of Life proposal are lesbian San Diego City Councilwoman Toni Atkins, San Diego City Attorney Mike Aguirre, wealthy embryonic stem cell supporter Malin Burnham, embryonic stem cell advocate and co-founder of Forward Ventures Ivor Royston, and Eric Bruvold, President and CEO of the San Diego Institute for Policy and Research, the think tank founded by Steve Francis in 2006.

Perhaps the most distasteful of all the recent plots and plans of San Diego's current crop of self-serving political leaders is the City of Life proposal being endorsed by mayoral candidate Steve Francis. For pro-life activists in San Diego, there is one troubling thing that the City of Life proposal will do for their city: it will turn San Diego into an artistic City of Death. The idea that Francis has signed off on a scheme to turn San Diego and its resources into nothing more than a marketing agent for Francis' wealthy friends in the biotech industry is just one too many punches below the belt for the honest and hardworking voters of San Diego.

From the Rainbow Flag to the broken Nazi cross, political images have been used for generations to manipulate voters into embracing a psychological idea that has ultimately proven to be catastrophic for the nations that embrace them. Greed and the coveting of wealth have been the downfall of many business leaders in America over the past decade. The City of Life proposal endorsed by Steve Francis will ultimately take Francis and his insatiable quest for wealth and power down the same dark corridors that Enron's bosses walked down.

The architect of the City of Life proposal is San Diego artist George Mullen. And the political scam is on: Francis and Mullen recently partnered up on an editorial opinion piece in Voice of San Diego to convice voters of the need for a "new kind" of vision in San Diego. Francis and Mullen write in their editorial:

"We need to reject the caretaker's stranglehold on elected office and once again seek

leaders with vision. As it has always been, it is the leaders who chart courses of bold,

thoughtful ideas that propel cities and nations to rise to heights previously unimagined."

What kind of leadership with vision is Francis and Mullen advocating? Where do they want to propel San Diego? In Mullen's proposal for the City of Life project he calls for city funds to be spent on his massive replacement of San Diego's official "America's Finest City" slogan and theme. Spending city funds - now that is a new idea, truly revolutionary!

Francis and Mullen also come to some typical anti-business, anti-consumer conclusions in their editorial. They write:

"Even more troubling, the aspirational and inspirational ideas of yesteryear have been

replaced with such mundane causes as Privatizing Social Security, Healthcare

Savings Accounts, and Ethanol Subsidies. Yawn."

"Yawn?" "Mundane?" Cleaning up social security and providing healthcare savings accounts to consumers are boring ideas to George Mullen and Steve Francis. Perhaps this is boring to Steve Francis because he has made millions of dollars by running a corporation that hires out nurses to various medical facilities throughout the United States.

Yes, the scam is on: In their editorial, Francis and Mullen do compliment some of the biggest supporters of embryonic stem cell research in San Diego and California, the very industry that stands to benefit from the City of Life proposal. Francis and Mullen write:

"If we hadn't followed Alan Uke, Malin Burnham and others in their vision for the

Midway aircraft carrier as a major tourist destination.....If we hadn't embraced John

Moores vision for a downtown baseball park and revitalization project..."

Malin Burnham contributed $50,000 to the passage of the Prop. 71 - Embryonic Stem Cell Initiative. Passed in 2004, Prop. 71 forces California taxpayers to fund $3 billion in bonds, plus $3 billion in interests for a state mandated embryonic stem cell program. Burnham has also endorsed the City of Life project. John Moores loaned millions of dollars to the embryonic stem cell organization established after Prop. 71 was approved by voters in 2004. The City of Life project would place Life Science sculptures and themes in various parts of San Diego as part of the new official city slogan and theme that would replace the current official city slogan "America's Finest City."

The City of Life project is a perfect fit for wealthy elitist Steve Francis, who wants to use the government to further his secularization of society by replacing morals from the people with a government run by wealthy business interests. The project is equally a good fit for Mullen, an artist who will receive wealth and fame by creating an artistic scheme that eradicates the history and tradition of San Diego and replaces them with a government-run logo and theme program benefiting the wealthy corporate interests of the biotech and bio-science industry.

To really understand how demoralizing and degrading the Francis-endorsed George Mullen artistic/biotech scheme is for San Diegans, one must read some of the incredibly disturbing comments by George Mullen in his City of LIfe proposal. In reading the following segment of Mullen's City of LIfe proposal, readers should remember that this is what mayoral candidate Steve Francis has endorsed:

"Many people have commented that the proposed City of Life catchphrase favorably

invokes San Diego's formidable Life Sciences industry, currently recognized as the

third largest and one of the fastest growing Life Sciences clusters in the nation.....

...This important San Diego industry is playing a pivotal role in improving and

lengthening the quality of life for all Americans. With this in mind, we have

enhanced the City of Life art campaign to include a series devoted to the Life

Sciences entitled The Double Helix Dance of Life.........As the structure of the most

basic building block of life itself, the Double Helix is the perfect theme for an

campaign dedicated to the Life Sciences industry within the City of Life."

In George Mullen's description of why he chose the City of Life title for his proposal, he clearly spells out his desire to invoke what he calls the "Life Sciences" Industry. In point number ten of his proposal, Mullen writes:

"Invokes the Life Sciences industry, an important San Diego industry that is playing a

pivotal role in improving and lengthening the quality of life for all Americans."

Mullen further solidfies in the eleventh number of his proposal, his desire to promote the industry that is known to the public for its insidious drive for mythical cures through human embryonic stem cell research. Mullen writes:

"While invoking the Life Sciences industry, at the same time remains inclusive of all

our other important industries and professions."

To understand the corruptive nature of mayoral candidate Steve Francis partnering up with an artist to replace the slogan "America's Finest City" with a slogan and theme that will spread imagery which honors the biotech industry, one must note the extensive ties that Steve Francis has to the biotech industry. A March 20, 2006 press release from BIOCOM and CONNECT, two of the biggest advocacy organizations for embryonic stem cell research, mentioned Steve Francis as a member of a committee for exploring the establishment of a new business enterprise, the San Diego Life Science Accelerator (SD-LSA), aimed at funding and mentoring new technology companies.

Originally founded by the University of California, San Diego, CONNECT is one the most aggressive advocates for embryonic stem cell research in the world. Steve Francis is listed on CONNECT's Board of Directors - Companies & Capitol Providers. If the San Diego City Council were to approve replacing the current official city slogan with the new one called City of Life, Steve Francis would have a gold mine of city-funded promotions for his wealthy biotech friends.

If the idea of replacing San Diego's traditional city slogan for a theme that promotes the greed of the biotech industry were not enough to repulse voters, then the mindset of the proposal's artist surely will. Read the utter arrogance and the belittling mentality of artist George Mullen as he describes the role that his project should play in other cities within San Diego County. And be reminded that this is what mayoral candidate Steve Francis has endorsed:

"Bottom line, the county cities are essentially satellites of the City of San Diego, and

as smaller entities most do NOT have the financial means, commitment, or follow thru

to properly brand themselves. (The satellite cities should not be trying to differentiate

themselves from the City of San Diego anyway. After all, when in New York and

someone asks where we are from the vast majority of us say "San Diego", whether we

happen to be from the city proper, El Cajon, Del Mar, or Chula Vista.) If San Diego

were to embrace the City of Life branding, why not go to SANDAG and invite ALL the

county cities to join our platform as partners? As the big kid on the block San Diego

will be billed as THE CITY OF LIFE, while each satellite that participates will be billed

as A CITY OF LIFE. The satellites can employ a derivative version of San Diego's logo

as well. With this plan, we will employ a unique regional effort that enables us to

pool our efforts and resources for the good of the entire county."

If the Steve Francis-endorsed proposal by George Mullen hasn't already nauseated most voters, look at the following statement by Mullen. It get's worse:

"San Diego currently presents itself under the catchphrase "America's Finest City."

The problem with this self-glorifying slogan is that it is a weak cliché that does NOT

sell outside city limits. It instead preaches to the choir, is immodest at best, and at

worst, presents an arrogant and boastful attitude toward our visitors, many of whom

naturally and pridefully see their own hometowns as America's finest cities. In sum,

this slogan is of no benefit to our city."

The Steve Francis-endorsed City of Life project is proposing that thematic artwork, sculptures and emblems that are tied to the proposal be placed at Lindbergh Field, highway overpasses, Qualcomm Stadium, Petco Park and unbelievably on City Flags on Broadway downtown. George Mullen also includes the concept of branding his City of Life as a "strategy." Mullen writes in his proposal:

"In order to successfully implement this aspect of our branding strategy, we propose

the ten variations of The Double Helix Dance of Life as large scale sculptures to be

placed along the two major thoroughfares of San Diego's Life Science Mesa.

(Nicknaming Torrey Mesa as such is an idea worthy of serious consideration.) The

sculptures are to be placed on the median adjacent to each lighted intersection on

North Torrey Pines Road extending from UCSD / Salk Institute to the south entrance

of Torrey Pines State Reserve, and on Genesee Avenue from where it intersects North

Torrey Pines Road to Highway 5."

There is something truly dark about the hypocrisy of Steve Francis. While he has a habit of posting photographs of himself and Father Joe Carroll, a well-known San Diego Catholic priest, on his campaign websites, Francis also dances a vampirish waltz with some of the biggest supporters of embryonic stem cell research in San Diego. The hypocrisy of Francis promoting himself with a Catholic priest at the same time that he is promoting the industry that kills human embryos makes Francis a rotten apple among a bushel of bad candidates running for public office in San Diego.

Perhaps the professional politicians in Las Vegas where Steve Francis came from are willing to trade away tradition and official city slogans for ones that give more and more of the American culture away to wealthy business elites. However, in San Diego, tradition, honor and integrity still mean San Diego is America's Finest City. And those time-honored values are not up for sale.

Ending our Right To Vote on Moral Issues January 27, 2007 In November 2004, 1,028,546 Oregonians voted to amend the Oregon Constitution to protect marriage between a man and a woman only (57% of those who voted). 43% (787,556) voted in opposition. Since then, efforts have been enjoined by the opposition to void that Amendment; remove legislators who favored the Amendment; take control of the legislature; circumvent the will of the people by creating another form of marriage they call 'domestic partnerships'; and prevent another VOTE of the people by unlawfully denying the voting rights of numerous registered voters.

A Serious CALL For Prayer This coming Friday, February 1st, at 10AM, in a Federal Court Room in Multnomah County, the effort to void the VOTES and will of the people Of Oregon, continues . If the Alliance Defense Fund attorneys prevail, HB 2007 will be directed toward the November General Election ballot. That decision will surely be appealed by the homosexual community and their supporters, and the battle for the fundamental VOTING rights of the people of Oregon to determine what marriage and morality is and is not, will continue. Brokeback Mountain Star Heath Ledger Found Dead by The Associated Press

(New York City) Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan residence, and police said drugs may have been a factor. He was 28. NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let him know the masseuse had arrived found him dead at 3:26 p.m.
The Australian-born actor was nominated for an Oscar for "Brokeback Mountain," where he met his wife, actress Michelle Williams, in 2005. Ledger and Williams had lived in Brooklyn and had a daughter, Matilda, until they split up last year.
Ledger was to appear as the Joker this year in "The Dark Night," a sequel to 2005's "Batman Begins." He's had starring roles in "A Knight's Tale" and "The Patriot," and played the suicidal son of Billy Bob Thornton in "Monster's Ball."
Ledger grew up in Perth, and began doing amateur theater at age 10. At 16, he moved to Sydney to pursue an acting career, quickly landing TV movie roles and guest spots on Australian television.
After several independent films and a starring role in the short-lived Fox TV series "Roar," Ledger moved to Los Angeles and costarred in "10 Things I Hate About You," a teen comedy reworking of "The Taming of the Shrew."
Offers for other teen flicks came his way, but Ledger turned them down, preferring to remain idle than sign on for projects he didn't like.
"It wasn't a hard decision for me," Ledger told the Associated Press in 2001. "It was hard for everyone else around me to understand. Agents were like, `You're crazy,' my parents were like, `Come on, you have to eat.'"
His latest role was in "I'm Not There," in which he played one of the many incarnations of Bob Dylan - as did Cate Blanchett, whose performance in that film earned an Oscar nomination Tuesday for best supporting actress.

This Is The Story Of One Man's Quest To Save The Youth Of America

(JHReport - 01/22/08) As the frozen winter snow and ice starts to thaw in Zanesville, Ohio, the water flowing through a small creek behind the home of Dr. Patrick Johnston begins its springtime dance with the slow moving crayfish along the muddy embankment. Crawdaddies, a slang term given to these crayfish by the good folks of Zanesville, quickly become the focus of two giggling little boys and three squealing young girls running to the creek from Dr. Johnston's house. Like plump golden bees which have just fed on a meal of the most succulent nectar dripping from flowers in the Garden Eden, these young children are buzzing with energy.

The young girls are Charity, age nine, Anna, age eight, and Grace, age three. The boys are James, who will turn six in February, and Daniel, who is only four, but already acting like he is old enough to get a driver's license. These small, but vibrant children, are five of the six children belonging to Dr. Patrick and Elizabeth Johnston. Their sixth child, Elijah, is under two years of age, and his mother is not quite ready to let him run his race towards the turbulent creek behind their house. Elizabeth, who is now pregnant with her seventh child, knows that soon she will have to chase after Elijah so that he doesn't run out and jump into the creek. Today, however, will not be that day.

While her other children are playing out back by the creek, Elizabeth is getting Elijah ready for something else that is quite extraordinary for a child under two years of age. Later in the day all six of the Johnston children, including little Elijah, will be making a historic stand for the people of Ohio. Charity, Anna, Grace, James, Daniel and little Elijah will be proudly wearing their brilliantly red t-shirts which read "Vote For My Daddy" at a 2008 Patrick Johnston For State Representative rally. They are part of the incredible team that is helping their father, Dr. Patrick Johnston, in his campaign for the Ohio State House of Representatives, 94th District.

In 2006, Ohio Congressman Bob Ney resigned after pleading guilty to charges of conspiracy and making false statements in relation to the Jack Abramoff Indian lobbying scandal. Congressman Ney's corruption is part of the destructive political environment in Ohio that Dr. Patrick Johnston and his very young family have bravely decided to plant their feet in so that they can help make a better future for their state.

In the heavy atmosphere of an oppressive state government that is bankrupting the futures of Ohio families, a light is bursting forth from the small, but historically significant community of Zanesville, Ohio. Others may not be too sure how Ohio's professional politicians with their fat cigars and overweight wallets will react to the sounds of little James and Daniel Johnston laughing loudly in Ohio's State House Chamber. Or how the wealthy women with their big diamond pendants and Chanel Luxury Line designer bags will respond to the giggles of little Charity, Anna and Grace Johnston as they run up the isle in the House Chamber to hug their daddy. Mother of Six - Friend To Many.

There isn't much that Elizabeth Johnston can't to do when it comes to taking care of her growing family. Graduating magna cum laude from F.S.U. in 2000 with an elementary education major and music minor, she homeschools all six of her very active and brilliant children. In addition to her warm mothering skills and her gifted musical talents, Elizabeth is Patrick's life partner, both in marriage and in ministry. Their ministry goes far beyond raising their own six children to include helping pregnant mothers in the central Ohio area and raising thousands of dollars each year for the Heartbeat Pregnancy Distress Center in Zanesville.

In the morning that Elizabeth is trying to get Elijah ready for the day's campaign event, she can rest assured that her children are in good hands out by the creek. Patrick has run out into the cold, frigid morning to play with his kids. Looking out the window, Elizabeth starts to laugh as Patrick snatches a crawdaddy from the mud. Chasing little James and Daniel with the angry crawdaddy, it is hard to distringuish the kids from their father. These are good kids and they have a good father. Dr. Johnston is absolutely devoted to his children.

It is a good life for the Johnstons in Zanesville, Ohio. Yet, Patrick and Elizabeth have been willing to move out of the comfort of their prosperous, private life to seek out a better future for their fellow Ohioans. As dedicated evangelical Christians, concern for their town and their neighbors is a high priority for the Johnstons -- and it is the only way they know how to live. In today's world of self-centeredness, it is rare thing to see a husband and wife who are so quick to sacrifice for the lives of others. It is a characteristic that Patrick learned early on in life from his own parents. Patrick was born in 1970 in Greenville, South Carolina where his parents were studying to be medical missionaries. Patrick's father was a Registered Nurse and his mother a Licensed Practical Nurse and he was the oldest of five boys.

The Home Life of Patrick & Elizabeth Johnston.

With six children in the home and a seventh on the way, Patrick and Elizabeth Johnston's four bedroom house is one crowded place. The Johnston home is not just a place for them to live. Really, their home is a learning village. Elizabeth homeschools all of her children. With her record of outstanding educational accomplishments, she could have easily gotten a teaching job at the school of her choice. Instead, Elizabeth chose to set up a school in her home where she could use her academic genius to benefit her own children and prepare them to become this generation's next great leaders.

For his part, Dr. Johnston has already begun the significant task of instilling a strong moral and social ethic in his children. In fact, the Johnston family has already earned a reputation in Ohio for being one of the most important pro-life families in the state. Dr. Patrick Johnston: A warrior like no other when it comes to

fighting for the youth in 21st Century America.

As any proud father loves to do, Patrick regularly pulls out his wallet to show off the pictures of his family, particularly the growing collection of photos of his kids. One observer recently asked Dr. Johnston, "Hey, I thought you only had six kids, who are those others kids in the photo?"

With tears in his eyes, Dr. Johnston looks directly down at the photo of two small children and responds, "These others are some of the babies I've helped to save." Dr. Johnston carries photographs of the children he has rescued from the brink of death. At least two children are alive today because Patrick convinced the mothers to give birth to their babies rather than having the abortions they were contemplating. One of the children was born with Down syndrome and is currently in the care of a loving grandmother.

Dr. Johnston cherishes and honors the children that he has helped to save by carrying photos of them in his wallet along with photos of his own six children. This is a testament to the commitment that Patrick has to this generation's children who are often born with irresponsible mothers and fathers. He is a warrior like no other when it comes to fighting for the youth in 21st Century America.

The pro-life movement in Ameica is often attacked by abortion supporters who claim that the pro-life movement demands women carry their babies to full term, yet pro-lifers will rarely offer financial assistance to the pregnant mothers who are contemplating abortion. This claim by abortion supporters certainly cannot be made against Patrick and Elizabeth Johnston.

A Husband & Wife Team Who Tells The World

That Every Life Matters & Every Child Is Important.

Every pregnant mother who is contemplating an abortion, who comes into Dr. Johnston's office, is offered assistance by the Johnstons if she will forgoe the abortion. Both Patrick and Elizabeth have made a public offer to adopt each baby that the mother is seeking to abort if the mother will not abort her baby. This offer was even extended to the litte baby with Down syndrome. Fortunately, the baby's grandmother was willing to take in the baby, thus it remains with the birth family.

Patrick and Elizabeth Johnston are raising their six children to know the meaning of life. With the same quality of character that has become the hallmark of their father's medical practice and pro-life advocacy, the Johnston children are already accomplishing more in their very young lives than many Christian churchgoers do in a lifetime.

Nine year-old Charity and eight year-old Anna are regular pro-life advocates who can be seen outside of various abortion clinics pleading with young women not to go through with their abortions. In 2005, when he was just three years-old, Dr. Johnston's oldest son, James, was heard warning obstetricians at the convention of American College of Ob/Gyns, “Don’t make God mad! Don’t kill babies!”

Dr. Patrick Johnston has raised up one of the most conscientious families in the midwest. However, he doesn't limit his family to just his own wife and kids. He considers his entire medical practice to be an extension of his family: all 5,000 patients!

Dr. Johnston's reputation for compassion, strong work ethic and vast knowledge of both traditional and non-traditional medicine has allowed him to become the dominant practicing physician in his district. Less then seven years ago, Patrick started his practice. Within two years his practice had grown to 1000 patients. After another doctor was sued for malpractice, Dr. Johnston inherited that physcian's 4,000 patients.

With 5,000 patients, Patrick has the busiest practice in an area that already has 260 physicians. What is the magnet that attracts so many clients to Dr. Johnston in an area that is replete with an abundance of practicing physicians? The answer lies in his Christian faith and how he applies it to his medical practice and the patients who seek his help.

On a busy day, Dr. Johnston sees approximately 55 patients. Each patient is extremely important to Patrick, each life, significant, each illness, a need that must be met. To understand the approach that Dr. Johnston takes and why so many patients are attracted to his medical office, one needs to know that Patrick Johnston is a doctor and a minister. In the same fashion that a church pastor helps dozens of congregants everyday, Dr. Patrick Johnston seeks to diagnose a patient's illness and offer them spiritual guidance. Bibles are available to every patient that comes into Dr. Johnston's office. Bible tracts and information on a wide variety of social issues are readily available in the waiting room. With a loving concern for the whole person, Dr. Johnston offers to pray with each of his patients.

~ A Father To The Fatherless ~

Two-three times per year, Dr. Johnston will see a female patient who is pregnant and not married. This is where Dr. Johnston separates himself from other doctors. He not only treats the woman like a patient, but also like a daughter. Every woman who comes into his office and is considering an abortion. Dr. Johnston and his wife Elizabeth will offer to take the baby and adopt it if she will carry it to full term.

Oftentimes these young, pregnant women are in a state of panic and fear because they are financially poor and cannot afford the cost of raising the child. Thus, they seek to abort the baby for financial reasons. Patrick and Elizabeth Johnston seek to alleviate the immense pressure that these women are under by offering them the help that they so desperately need in their time of crisis.

Sue Wolff, the Director of Heartbeat Pregnancy Distress Center, has received many referrals from Dr. Johnston. Heartbeat Pregnancy Distress Center cares for pregnant women in Zanesville, Ohio. The Johnstons even sent a check to Sue Wolff to pay for an entire month's rent for one young woman who was pregnant and had no place to live. This allowed her to have her baby without fear of being homeless and abandoned.

Over the last two years, the Johnston's have personally raised over $25,000 through musical benefits for the Heartbeat Pregnancy Distress Center. At these annual benefits, Patrick speaks eloquently about the life and death struggles involved in pregnancy and abortion. His wife writes and sings original songs for the benefit. In 2006, 1100 people attended their benefit. Last year, the number had risen to 1200 in attendance.

The Johnston Family is united in their ministry to women, pregnant mothers and their unborn children. The ministry called Right Remedy is proudly featuring an advertisment for their 3rd annual musical benefit for the Heartbeat Pregnancy Distress Center. This year, each of the Johnston children will be singing their hearts out to raise money for women in need at the pregnancy center. It is a good thing too. The current heartwrenching advertisment on the pregnancy distress center's website states: "This is a slow season right now and we are running low on diapers, wipes and baby clothing size, premies - 4T for both boys and girls. Baby bed, mattresses, high chairs, strollers, and basniets."

The auditorium in Zanesville will be packed as the Johnston's sing passionately for the lives of the babies in the wombs of mothers in central Ohio. In the middle of the concert, the lights will begin to dim. One intense light will beam down onto the darkened stage. One woman, with tears running down her face, will begin to sing out as if the only thing that mattered at that moment, in all of God's creation, was her song for the babies of America. She is singing a song titled, "How I Will Miss You." It is a song about a mother who cries out for the baby that she aborted and wishes to get her child back. The woman singing that song is Elizabeth Johnston.

Little James Johnston will be singing at the concert as well. He is a sharp and responsible little boy, soon to turn six years-old in February. His daddy, Patrick, has already produced in James the kinds of qualities of character that many adults never do apprehend.

When his daddy told him that he was going to run for the 94th District of the Ohio State House of Representatives, little James made a very big decision for a boy who is about to turn six years-old. With his big eyes looking up at his daddy, James held up his piggy bank and declared, "Here daddy, I believe in you!" He took his life savings of $4.98 and gave it to his daddy as a campaign contribution. That is the kind of character that has already been instilled into the hearts and minds of James and his five siblings. Dr. Johnston will proudly tell everyone that the $4.98 contribution of his son is now among the most valuable of all the financial contributions that he has received.

Patrick Johnston is a fanatic when it comes to studying the economic conditions of his state and, in particular, the local communities that make up his district. He makes no attempt at hiding the severity of the financial stress that most of the neighborhoods are suffering in Ohio's 94th District. According to the Tax Foundation, Ohio's state and local tax burden ranks as the fifth worst in the nation. As a result of Ohio ranking as the 49th worst state for business tax climates, communities like Coshocton recently lost 200 jobs with Pretty Products to the state of Tennessee.

There is no doubt that the state of Ohio is under seige by depressing economic numbers. Although Patrick Johnston is laying out the harsh economic reality to voters in his district, he understands that the people of Ohio must have a visionary to lead them out of the years of corruption which have plauged the Ohio State house.

In 2005, then Governor Bob Taft was charged with four criminal misdemeanors. Taft was declared guilty of four misdemeanors for breaking state ethics laws by failing to report golf outings, meals, hockey tickets and other gifts from some of the state’s most influential business and political leaders. At his arraignment in Franklin County Municipal Court in Columbus, Taft pleaded no contest and was fined $4,000 plus court cost. Judge Mark Froehlich also ordered Taft to apologize to the people of Ohio as well as state employees. At the time, Taft said he was "very disappointed" in himself.

~ Ethical and Educated ~

Patrick Johnston can certainly boast of a well-qualified education in his bid to take on the problems facing Ohio. He attended medical school at the Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated in 1998. He came to Ohio University for his residency in family practice, and was chief resident his final year. In spite of a 70 to 80-hour work-week as chief resident, he worked part-time during his residency at a medical clinic for indigents.

He founded the Association of Pro-Life Physicians, which is committed to discovering which physicians hold to the Hippocratic ethic when caring for unborn human lives, and then educating the public about those physicians who will not commit abortions nor refer their patients for abortions. Dr. Johnston is a member of the American Academy of Family Practitioners and the American Osteopathic Association.

~ A Compassionate Man For All Seasons ~

Compassion is not something that can truly be proclaimed by a man until he has experienced the very adversity that has beset those whom the man seeks to convey such compassion. Dr. Patrick Johnston knows what it is like to suffer poverty and then, through hard work and faith, overcome those things which empoverish many in America today. He understands the intimate concept of Christian compassion, something that he has embraced as a way of life.

There is a uniqueness about Patrick Johnston that goes far beyond today's typical Christian. James Hartline, a nationally recognized Christian activist from San Diego, California, has been suffering with AIDS for over ten years. When he recently went to a national Christian Conservative conference in Coshocton, Ohio, he had the opportunity to meet Dr. Johnston. Since that time nearly 50 million Americans have had their lives taken from them. Convict us and work within our seared conscience to a deep and abiding repentance lest you abandon us and our children permanently to a nation of perversity and evil beyond comprehension. In the only Name in which we might be saved, Jesus of Nazareth, our Redeemer, Amen. Tuesday is the 25th anniversary of Roe. v. Wade . Pray for those who are contemplating an abortion, that they might be moved to seek counsel from other sources than Planned Parenthood; for those who are engaged in performing abortions, that they might have a 'Damascus Road' experience with the living God; for our elected state and federal officials, that those who affirm abortion might become convicted of their errors before God, repent and stand firm in support of life; and for Christians throughout America, that they might be encouraged, emboldened, and engaged, with every tool in their possession to influence their peers and the political system around them; and to VOTE PRO LIFE. Pray also for the 43 % of all women under the age of 45 who have had abortions, that they might find solace, forgiveness and new life in Christ, and that they may become the great force in America to speak out as victims of a culture that has lied to them through the deception of Satan and his emissaries on the earth. Oregon's Domestic Partnership Court Case & Willamette Week Article January 17, 2007 James Pitkin, in todays Willamette Week, says Lawyer Dan Meek, even though "...a strong supporter of civil unions," is a "staunch critic of how the state handles petition signatures." According to Pitkin, Meek "wishes the battle were over a different law," but that, "Reforming Oregon's initiative system, however, has been needed for some time." Pitkin quotes Meek as saying, "But nevertheless you can't pick and choose. Either you have a process that respects the voters or you don't." (Hilites mine) Along with The Oregonian Article yesterday, Pitkin and Meek further establish the validity of our case against Bradbury, the Elections Division, certain county clerks; our voting rights as citizens, and the importance of certifying HB 2007 for a Vote of the people in November. Excerpt from the Article, "State of Disunion" "Gay-rights advocates have blasted U.S. District Court Judge Michael Mosman's decision to put a hold on domestic partnerships for same-sex couples in Oregon until a Feb. 1 court hearing. But the temporary injunction issued last month by Mosman hinges less on gay rights and more on a technical issue that could drastically alter the state's voter-initiative system by changing how the state treats petition signatures. As such, some backers of gay rights say the upcoming court battle reflects a long-overdue need to treat signatures with the same care as votes in an election." Oregonian Publishes Alliance Defense Fund Article January 16, 2007 All who read Restore America Updates and Commentaries know that the media, particularly the print media in Oregon have been very one sided in their reporting with regard to the decision by a Federal Judge to prevent the civil union/domestic partnership bill from becoming law on January 2nd. We expect that to continue, however, today The Oregonian did publish an excellent article by Joseph Infranco, Senior Counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund, the legal entity representing the unlawfully disenfranchised petition signers. Excerpt from the Article "Dozens of Oregonians who discovered their signatures had been wrongly thrown out personally visited county clerks' offices to affirm their signatures within the constitutionally mandated 30 days. In essence, these Oregonians were told, "Too bad. We don't care if you signed the petition. We have decided to eliminate you from the process." Typically, clerks' offices reach out to voters whose signatures can't be immediately verified. Not this time. The lawsuit that the Alliance Defense Fund has filed on behalf of these silenced Oregonians rests on a simple, foundational principle: Every Oregonian's voice must be heard, even if -- especially if -- a powerful political movement doesn't like the message. The Call to Stand and to Stand Firm January 13, 2007 Standing requires courage This past week I attended a private two day meeting in Washington D.C., of 60 prominent pro-life, pro-family, pro-marriage and morality Christian leaders from across the nation who are engaged in the culture war. With an ever increasing hostility to Christians and Christianity and the implementation of a pronounced secular, even pagan agenda through the courts, the media, and legislatures around the nation, more and more Christian leaders are concerned. I was asked beforehand to lead the opening devotional. I shared the clear Command and Call of Scripture to be strong and courageous and to 'Stand Firm' in the battle for marriage, family, religious freedom and morality, no matter how false the recriminations of those trapped in sexual sin, a determined and co-opted secular media, and those in government who have believed their falsehoods. My personal conclusion afterwards is that if America's Evangelical Christians take their citizenship seriously in the 2008 elections, standing firm against the forces of evil manifesting in civil government, and the media, we can thwart the efforts to redefine America under a secular anti God agenda. If we refuse, on the other hand, to turn out our votes, as we did in 2006, we will be a nation "Gone Under" as Ronald Reagan warned. It will be the Christians, by their failure to take their 'salt and light' responsibility and opportunity seriously who will not only bear the responsibility, but place our religious freedoms and our children's future in jeopardy more directly than anyone else. In our Pre Conference Video, Rick Scarborough, President of Vision America and one of our speakers at the last two conferences, is shown saying to Christians and church leaders who do not want to engage the culture with courage and Biblical truth, "Sleep on. I will find someone else." It is my prayer that each of you will respond to the Call of God and choose to be the 'someone else' that Oregon, and America, needs. Father in heaven, have mercy on us, your wayward children. We are, as You have said, like 'sheep' who wander off and have no idea of the snares into which we have thrust ourselves. We have strayed a far off from the responsibility our Forefathers bled and died to give us. We have chosen to ignore the sin that so easily besets us, even embracing it, and justifying it with the reasonings of fallen men. By our neglect we have served ourselves and looked the other way. And now, our communities, state and nation are in distress, even peril. Forgive us LORD. Move in my heart LORD and those of my brethren, to be 'strong and courageous' and to 'stand firm' as good soldiers of Jesus Christ. In His most excellent Name, and for His sake and those who remain until You return, Amen. Pray for . . . (Action Alert) Last year, the San Diego City Council entered into a covenant with some of the most radical libertarians in California when they approved the disasterous Clean Needle Exchange Program (CNEP). The CNEP allows heroin and methamphetamine IV drug users to get free needles at mobile vehicles in residential neighborhoods in the city of San Diego. Hypothetically, these drug abusers are supposed to bring in their dirty needles and exchange them for free, clean ones. In reality, this "program" provides drug abusers a constant means for shooting up deadly and illegal street drugs. Additionally, in approving this very sick hypodermic needle giveaway, the city council gave libertarians what they wanted: another incremental step in socialized medicine and elimination of all laws that criminalize illegal drug use.

After one year of operation and a tremendous increase in violent crimes in the neighborhood that is the site for one of the needle exchange vehicles, the San Diego City Council is conducting an annual review of the program. The review will be conducted at the San Diego City Council chambers on Tuesday - January 15, 2008 at 2:00pm.

Disasterous Results In The Last Year

Several months ago, San Diego City Council candidate James Hartline was asked by his good friend, Ronnie Fannuchi, if he could help her with a very difficult job. After an extremely successful career in the entertainment industry, Ronnie gave it all up to be a dedicated Christian and mother. Ronnie Fannuchi has devoted her life to being the best mom that she can be in today's anti-child culture. Today's drug-soaked culture has been wickedly cruel to Ronnie's oldest child: With a broken heart, Ronnie called her friend James Hartline and asked him to go with her to her oldest son's apartment to help clean up a very bad mess in the son's North Park home.

When James and Ronnie arrived at her son's apartment, they found over 200 dirty hypodermic needles that were sprawled everywhere in the small confines of her son's living quarters. Embedded in the carpet, on the kitchen counters, under the bed, the deadly, dirty needles were everywhere. These needles had come from the local, clean needle exchange program in North Park. Ronnie almost lost her beloved son. And it is clear, that her son was not exchanging needle-for needle, as the so-called city council-approved program requires.

San Diego City Council candidate James Hartline photographed all of the dirty needles in the apartment prior to their destruction. The photographs will be used as evidence against the continuation of the disasterous clean needle exchange program. In dealing with the San Diego City Council on this issue, it is clear that the current councilmembers are completely disconnected from the cultural reality of what they have done by pulling the trigger in favor of giving free needles to IV drug users.

Since the implementation of the clean needle exchange program in the North Park area of San Diego, violent crimes have skyrocketed in the area. In fact, over the past year, violent crime has increased so dramatically, that leaders of the homosexual movement have formed their own civilian policing organization to monitor the neighborhood. The Stonewall Citizen's Patrol provides constant surveillance in the areas of North Park and Hillcrest. Despite these facts, advocates for the CNEP dishonestly contend that there has virtually been no increase in crime in the area where the free needles are being given to drug addicts. They simply refuse to contemplate that drug addicts take their needles away from the vicinity of the CNEP van to shoot up drugs and commit violent crimes while under the influence of illegal narcotics.

Incredibly, the San Diego Council recently voted to ban alcohol on public beaches in the city because of the uncontrollable behavior of drunks on the beaches. Yet, this same city council finds nothing wrong with giving free hypodermic needles to heroin and crystal meth addicts so that they can shoot up their poisons with clean syringes. The madness must stop! And it must stop with us!

Out of Candidate Forum Being Held At Gay-Friendly Church

San Diego Christian City Council Candidate James Hartline Is Denied

Participation In Campaign Event That Will Feature Gay Candidates At

Kensington Community Church

(JHReport) San Diego, California is a city that has been overrun with scandals, corruption, federal court indictments and city councilmembers who have been convicted on bribery charges in recent years. Now voters in the midst of the 2008 elections can add illegal discrimination to the litany of political problems which are plaguing the City of San Diego. At the center of these new and troubling allegations is Kensington Community Church, a large, gay-friendly church that will be the location for a significant San Diego City Council candidate forum on January 16, 2008.

Kensington Community Church, a member of the United Church of Christ denomination, allows the Kensington -Talmadge Community Association to hold a monthly event on its church property. Scheduled for the community association's upcoming January 16, 2008 monthly event at the church will be a candidate forum featuring candidates from San Diego's District 3 city council race. District 3 is home to a large portion of San Diego's homosexual movement. James Hartline, a well-known Christian activist and opponent of corruption within San Diego's gay community, is a leading candidate in that city council race. Despite his prominence in the city council race, Hartline says he is not being permitted to particpate in a forum with the other candidates at the gay-friendly church.

Hartline, who has consistently exposed corruption inside of San Diego's gay community, believes that an attempt to keep him away from voters during the meeting at the church is part of a discriminatory scheme by political powerbrokers who want to prevent him from winning the election. Hartline did not receive an invitation to the candidate's forum at the church like the other candidates in his district race did. Hartline says that he would not have even known that a candidate forum was being conducted at the church except for the fact that the campaign forum is currently advertised on the website of one of the other candidates who is running against him in the District 3 race.

Todd Gloria, a homosexual activist who supports same-sex marriage and the legalization of male sodomy in the U.S. military, has been invited to the candidate forum at the church. It is Todd Gloria who is advertising the candidate forum at Kensington Community Church on his campaign website.

Hartline also contacted John Hartley, another candidate in the District 3 race, to ask him if he knew about the candidate forum at the Kensington-based church. "Yes, I know about the event, I've been personally invited," Hartley told James Hartline yesterday during a brief phone conversation. Hartley's personal invitation points to severe hypocrisy, as well as the corruptive nature of politics, in San Diego. John Hartley is listed as the coordinator on a website called Neighborhoods For Clean Elections. Hartley's website states: Clean Elections will clean up San Diego City Hall and return city government to the Neighborhoods. Apparently, Hartley's message of clean elections does not extend to James Hartline's right to appear with other candidates at the gay-friendly Kensington Community Church.

This is not the first time that groups inside of San Diego's homosexual community have attempted to block Hartline's appearance during campaign events where his opponents have been allowed to speak. According to a report in Political Voice, the San Diego Democratic Club voted to not invite James Hartline to its June 28, 2007 candidate forum. Despite the group's bylaws which state that all candidates in non-partisan races are to be invited to its forums, boardmembers asked its organizational members to waive their bylaws and affirm their decision to not invite the Christian activist. Political Voice stated that Hartline was not invited because "of his 'anti-LGBT views' and his 'tendency' to cause disruption in public forums."

The problem of a church allowing a political group to use its property is a tenuous one at best. What makes this issue of excluding a Christian candidate from a church property even more dilatorious, is the covert manner in which Hartline has been excluded from the event. Hartline, and his campaign attorney, Robert Sutton, believe that moral, ethical and legal boundaries have been crossed by the Kensington-Talmadge Community Association by excluding him from a campaign event at the church.

"It is a sad day for San Diegans, when a church allows a community group to use its facility and that community group is keeping a Christian from participating in a candidate forum on the church property," said San Diego Christian activist James Hartline.

"We have now seen the most vile form of discrimination in San Diego," Hartline adds. "A church property being used as a location for denying a Christian candidate his legal right to be a part of the politicial process is not something that we can tolerate in our city or our nation."

Although Hartline has become a regular target of discrimination and many times been threatened by members of San Diego's gay community, he vows to continue fighting for his fellow Christians and the people of his city to have their voices heard at city hall. "I will not allow the religious bigotry that has been sent my way by a community group using the Kensington Community Church to deter me from making my stand for the people of San Diego," declares a very serious James Hartline.

Hartline believes that even if he is prevented from speaking on the property of Kensington Community Church, that other churches will uphold his constitutional right to be heard during this election. "Political corruption will not stop me. Bigotry will not deter me. Discrimination will not beat me," he says.

While Hartline is being prevented from participating in the candidate forum on the church property, it appears that the floodgates of disturbing and questionable forms of religious activities are going on at the church. A homosexual square dancing group and yoga classes are listed on Kensington Community Church's website of scheduled events. Hartline says that he finds it incredible that a church is allowing its property to be used for a homosexual square dancing party. According to the website for San Diego's Finest City Squares, the group is a square dance club serving the lesbian and gay community in the San Diego area. The website also lists Kensington Community Church as the location for its monthly dance party.

Hartline finds it equally disturbing that a church would allow its property to be used by a community association that allows candidates engaged in homosexuality to speak at a candidate forum, but not a Christian man who obeys the Bible and has left the homosexual lifestyle. Hartline also sees Kensington Community Church bearing legal responsibility for the illegal discrimination being waged against him. Hartline points to the fact that the church website advertises the monthly dinner that will include the candidate forum on their list of church programs.

Denying James Hartline his legal right to appear with the other city council candidates at the church also involves the appearance that governmental sources are being used against the Christian activist. The Kensington/Talmadge Community Association is promoted on the government-funded website of lesbian San Diego City Councilwoman Toni Atkins. James Hartline has repeatedly spoken out against Atkins during public appearances at the San Diego City Council. While Atkins is promoting the Kensington/Talmadge Community Association on the taxpayer-funded city council website, the association is refusing to allow Hartline to appear along with other candidates at the Kensington Community Church.

According to a May 22, 2007 transcript from a meeting of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, County Supervisor Ron Roberts recommended that $40,000 in taxpayer funds be given to the Kensington/Talmadge Community Association for a new gateway sign in their community. While the association doesn't mind taking public funds for community signs, it seems to have a real problem allowing a Christian to speak at their community's church.

It is not only local politics which are playing a role in the discrimination against James Hartline in his bid to replace lesbian Councilwoman Toni Atkins in the 3rd District of the San Diego City Council. Congresswoman Susan Davis, who represents the area in congress, has addressed the Kensington-Talmadge Community Association during its monthly meeting at the Kensington Community Church. Congresswoman Davis, who has a history of promoting the extremist interests of the radical homosexual movement, made these comments in her May 2007 congressional newsletter:

"I was grateful to have an opportunity to address the members of the Kensington-Talmadge Community Association on Wednesday, April 11. The association's monthly dinner gathering is an opportunity for members to gather together, share stories, and build a sense of community. As a resident of Kensington for nearly 35 years, it is always a treat to spend time with my neighbors and discuss the issues of the day. Among the topics that we discussed were election reform, education, the war in Iraq, and immigration."

Todd Gloria, the city council candidate who is challenging Hartline for the District 3 City Council seat, is employed by Congresswoman Susan Davis. Gloria has used his position with Congresswoman Davis' office to appear at a multitude of Kensington-Talmadge Community events under the guise of representing her office. Keen observers have often commented that it was hard to determine whether Gloria was at these community events to represent Davis' congressional office or whether he was using these events as public appearance opportunities for his own city council campaign. One thing is certain, Congresswoman Davis' employee, Todd Gloria, has been invited to speak at the Kensington Community Church during the candidate forum and James Hartline is being denied that same constitutional right.

While leaders within San Diego's homosexual movement may currently have the upper hand in controlling who speaks at certain community events during the 2008 elections, James Hartline believes that his faith in God will eventually overcome their discrimination against Christians. "This is not about gay rights," says Hartline. "This is about anti-christian bigotry which controls much of the radical ideology that dictates the marching orders given to followers of the American homosexual movement."

"I have overcome thirty years of homosexuality to become a free man in Jesus Christ. I have outlived the death sentence of AIDS. And I will certainly overcome the discrimination that is preventing me from speaking at a candidate forum along with the other candidates in my district race," declares James Hartline.

Oregon Media Aids & Abets Homosexual Agenda

Oregon Media Aids & Abets Homosexual Strategy January 9, 2008 Oregon Media & Public Perception Lake Oswego, Oregon - In a recent article by Chuck Colson, Watergate villain turned thoughtful Christian, Colson said, "Millions of young people . . . see (Christians) as judgmental, hypocritical, anti-homosexual, too political, insensitive-and boring." He went on to say that, "hostile press characterizations of us as judgmental, homophobic bigots have stuck." And so they have. Consider last weeks coverage of staged protests around the state by Basic Rights Oregon lamenting the decision by a Federal Court Judge in Portland to put on hold the civil unions law passed by the Oregon Legislature in June and scheduled to become law on January 2, 2008. The Media in bed with Basic Rights Oregon Thomas Wheatley, Basic Rights Oregon (BRO) Organizing Director, on December 30th said, "The vigils happening around the state will get fabulous media." "The media is all over this story. They'll go wherever we tell them to go." Sure enough, they did! And more! On the night of the planned 'vigils' around the state, protesting Judge Mosman's decision to postpone the civil unions bill from becoming law on January 2nd, the 10 and 11PM news said, "Thousands gathered...at the vigils state-wide" when in fact, it was only 1140, according to BRO themselves, in all the locations BRO planned! Why the exaggeration? The Media - Part of Basic Right's Strategy Wheatley, in the same BRO statement, said, " "The vigils give us a huge opportunity to seize the moral high ground in the eyes of the public." His strategy? Persuading the 'movable middle' that this is about people just like them, and those who oppose same sex marriage are 'far right wing.' "This is about hard-working Oregonians who just want to protect their families vs. the far right wing. . . suburban soccer moms and the rest of the "movable middle."" And then he goes on to say, "And already this strategy is working. We're winning in the media." Sure enough. Basic Right's 'strategy' was implemented in spades in every one of Oregon's secular news media outlets including print, radio and TV, the very night of the vigil and first thing the next day! Front page no less, so everyone would see what Basic Rights and the media wanted them to see, except . . . the truth about the 'strategy.' No wonder the public wants 'change'! But it is not the 'change' both the Oregon media and Basic Rights wants. They are tired of being manipulated by politicians and interest groups aided and abetted by the media. Oregonians are not as gullible as BRO and our media think. They simply want the opportunity to have a say in profound social and moral issues that effect us all. businessowners and other concerned Christian citizens which

would stand up for Christians and their values in the County of

San Diego.

Commerce to stand up for us in our city halls, our schools and

our business communities?

The San Diego Christian Chamber of Commerce will represent

The Villainy, Impudence, and Madness of These Christians!

The Impudence, Madness, and Villainy of These Christians! January 6, 2008 Lake Oswego, Oregon - On Friday, December 28th, five days before a same sex civil unions bill was to become law in Oregon, a Federal Court Judge granted a temporary restraining order, preventing the law from going into affect. The Oregonian said, "Supporters of the new law were stunned by the judge's decision." Jeana Frazzini, Executive Director for Basic Rights Oregon (BRO) in her response to the decision said, "This decision is nothing short of an outrage." She accused the Alliance Defense Fund and Restore America of being ". . . right-wing, out of state interest groups" engaged in "religious extremism." Immediate comments on the BRO website included the predictable derogatory labels: "haters," "small minded. . . homophobes," "selfish goons," "right wing fundamentalist christians," "stupid," "narrow minded bigots," "religious freaks," and more. Exercising our fundamental citizenship rights For simply believing that voter petition signatures were wrongly rejected, Oregon and Federal law violated, and Oregon voters unlawfully denied the right to vote on whether same sex civil unions is responsible moral and social policy, Christians are being vilified and subjected to judgmental, intolerant labeling by those who claim - falsely - they are victims of the same treatment. One wonders if Basic Rights Oregon is successful in getting what they want, whether we can expect more of the same, or worse.

Oh, the villainy, madness, and impudence of these Christians! Ambrose Serle, the civilian secretary of Admiral Richard Lord Howe, upon hearing the news of the Declaration of Independence, wrote, "the villainy and the madness of these deluded people." "A more impudent, false, and atrocious proclamation was never fabricated by the hands of man." History, reason, and fair minded men and women worldwide have since concluded it was, and is, one of the greatest attestations to ordered liberty and government of, by, and for the people the world has ever known. The Declaration of reasons for separation from England was not villainous, madness or deluded, nor are the declarations of the Oregon plaintiffs and those of the ADF attorneys. Neither are they 'impudent' 'atrocious' or 'fabricated' as BRO and their supporters claim. Resorting to immature and uninformed ad hominem labels - as seems to be the case today in America's self absorbed morally adrift pop culture - is inappropriate to this very important issue. As with the Declaration of Independence, reason, Judge Mosman, and hopefully the voters of Oregon, will decide if the plaintiffs claims are valid, and the creation of civil unions, wise. Huckabee's Victory & What It Says To Oregonians

Learning From The Obama - Huckabee Victories January 4, 2008

What we learned from Iowa First, Restore America is non partisan, and does not endorse candidates for political office, but we do reserve the right to make observations about political events and would be public servants. This is such a time. With the victories last night of Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee in the Iowa Causcuses, several important facts immerged that Christians would be well advised to note: Two views of what is best for America - joined by a common desire for change - are on a collision course in the Campaign for the Whitehouse. One is based on more traditional values and beliefs about America, and what must be protected and preserved, and the other is based on a more contemporary, yet age old and deep seated desire for government to satisfy wants, and perceived needs while providing economic and personal security. Americans are disenchanted with traditional establishment politics based on polls, promises, and failure to perform. Money is no longer the determining factor in who wins. The youth vote, between 18-29, 57% of which voted for Obama, is opting for the latter view. Evangelicals are a significant and powerful force to be reckoned with. They can be inspired, motivated and engaged in the political process. They comprised 60% of the 'turnout' versus 37% in 2004. A candidate's values and ability to communicate those values is critical. Obama and Huckabee are perfect examples. Money, experience and message is not near as important as authenticity and the ability to connect with people. If it can be done in Iowa, it can be done in Oregon! Just as the political parties, pundits, media, and people in their own camp did not believe Huckabee and Obama really stood a chance, those same groups in Oregon did not believe Restore America and Concerned Oregonians along with the Defense of Marriage Again Petitioners, would succeed in obtaining 7000 more signatures than were required. Neither did they believe we would confront Oregon's entrenched liberal political establishment for their disrespect for and disenfranchisement of Oregon Voters, but we did. Nor did they believe we would prevail December 28th when Judge Mosman ruled in our favor, preventing HB 2007 from becoming law on January 1. With very little money, Concerned Oregonians and Restore America accomplished what Obama and Huckabee did in Iowa. We took our message and petitions to the people, and the people responded. Oregonians, working together, can take Oregon back from Willamette Valley liberals who are out of touch with the people of Oregon. Oregonians, wake up! Rise up, re-engage, and get ready. Believe in yourselves, the God of heaven and earth, and His ability to protect and preserve that which is His. To my many friends throughout America:

Eight years ago, after a lifetime of homosexuality, drug abuse and hopelessness, I finally gave all of my life to Jesus Christ. I didn't just give Him a portion of my existence: I gave Him everything. At that time, Jesus Christ became my eternal purpose for existing on this earth. The Lord was not just a religious experience for me. Indeed, Jesus became my earthly mandate. In 2000, when I gave up all of my homosexual relationships and allowed God to take away the desire for that destructive sin, God said to me, "Now follow me and watch what happens!"

Over the past five years, I have led the charge in shutting down eight pornographic businesses in the City of San Diego. One of those destructive businesses included a gay sex club that was the location where a multitude of young men had done illegal drugs and had sex while infected with the AIDS virus. In 2005, I led an investigation that uncovered a network of pedophiles who were working around minors in the San Diego Gay Pride organization. As a result of that investigation, we were able to stop the San Diego City Council from issuing a proclamation to declare Gay Pride Week in the City of San Diego. These endeavors were just a small portion of what I have helped to bring to the City of San Diego during the past seven years.

In 2003, I helped launch the Hillcrest Mission, a successful 501(c)3 charity, to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ inside of San Diego's homosexual community. Under my leadership, the Hillcrest Mission held a major conference in 2006 called "Shake the Nation." Shake the Nation featured some of America's top pro-family leaders and activists, including prominent religious attorneys Charles LiMandri and Brad Dacus and renowned author and speaker William J. Federer.

From 2004 to 2006, I helped rally hundreds of concerned citizens to save the Mt. Soledad Cross from being torn down. In 2004, we were moving ever closer to having the cross removed from the famous Mt. Soledad Veteran's War Memorial. My involvement with Mission Valley Christian Fellowship culminated in a massive religious liberty rally at the war memorial the night before the November 2004 presidential elections. With the phenomenal help of religious liberty attorney Charles LiMandri, Congressman Duncan Hunter and President Bush, we were able to permanently secure the cross at its current location atop Mt. Soledad.

In 2007, I helped organize a complicated event at Petco Park to protest the San Diego Padres who were allowing a radical homosexual group to hold a homosexual celebration at the stadium at the same time that the team had already invited thousands of young kid to participate in a "free floppy cap giveaway" event at the ballpark. Over 100 San Diegans joined me at this righteous protest where we distributed thousands of Bible tracts and information about the homosexual movement to baseball fans and families. Bill O'Reilly's popular "The O'Reilly Factor" and many local television stations provided national and local news coverage of our protest.

Prior to July of 2003, I had never once sent out an email. I did not even know how emails worked at that time. Despite being an internet novice at that time, I decided to start emailing friends and churchmembers about the corruption going on in San Diego and the homosexual community. Within weeks of sending my first James Hartline Report email news alert in 2003, my original email list of 20 people grew into hundreds. Four years later, I have the largest Christian email mailing list in San Diego County. Each month, over 100,000 emails are sent out by the James Hartline Report -- a phenomenal accomplishment for a man who was computer illiterate five years ago!

With a determination to serve God and help Christians everywhere, my original James Hartline Report email news updates have multiplied into many different arenas. In the past year, I began publishining a fully comprehensive news website called California Christian News. Last year also saw me publish my first ministry booklet, "Broken Rainbow -- After The Gay Life Isn't Gay Anymore." In 2006, my life story was featured on an international broadcoast of the 700 Club.

In all of my various ministry accomplishments and Christian activism, I have never once compromised my commitment to Jesus Christ. What people see of me in public is exactly how I live my life behind closed doors. One of the main messages that I have labored to convey to my fellow Christians is that we don't have to compromise our values or public stand for Jesus Christ to accomplish the assignments that God has given us. Too many of our American political and religious leaders who claim to be Christians, have betrayed us and our Biblical values with moral, financial and culture denials of Jesus Christ. I have proven that we can stand strong for God in the American culture and we don't have to deny our commitment to Christ in the process.

In the last four years, I have developed a Christian Citizenship group called "The Not On My Watch Team." At least eight times per year our team goes to the San Diego City Council where we speak out on issues of moral consequence. As a result of our efforts at city hall, many San Diegans have been inspired to become involved in the restoration of our city's decaying moral foundation. Many other citizens in other American cities have duplicated our organizational efforts by creating their own civic watchgroups.

And now in 2008, I am setting my eyes on an even higher prize:

I am running for a seat on the San Diego City Council .

Eight years ago, God told me to leave my old lifestyle behind, to pick up my cross, and to follow Him. I have never looked back. Even though there have been many times where I have stood in the fires of controversy, in the winds of persecution, and in the storms of sacrifice, I have been obedient to the call that God gave me those many years ago. Now, with the same dedication I have carried out over these past eight years, I am going to the next level.
