Oh LORD, Thou art the only true God. Thou art the living God, the God of mercy whose everlasting love was, and is, manifested in Him Who died for all men. We come to you this day in humility and brokenness for our nation, our own sin, the sin of the people, the sin of our leaders and the souls of our enemies around the world who know not the love, forgiveness, and power of God to transform our lives and the life of their nation. Without your intervention, without a turning back to You, we perish. We have sinned, all of us, everyone, believer and unbeliever, having loved the world and its pleasures more than You, more than our neighbors, more than even those who bore us, and the fruit of the womb. Forgive us dear LORD. Awaken us by Thy Holy Spirit to see Your Glory again, to see in our Spirit, and by Thy Spirit your resurrection power, the power to heal our hearts, our lives, our neighbors and nation, to Your Glory! If The LORD Delights In Us The necessities of restoration April 23, 2009 "Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong!" I Corinthians 16:13 On Sunday, November 2nd, 2008, just two days before the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States, I wrote, "Tuesday, November 4th, will be a day of deliverance, either into captivity and lamentation, or into the recognition that our ordered liberties come from God; into the twilight before nightfall, or into the glorious light of day after the threat has passed; into an awakening and revival, or the awareness of great loss and evil to come." Read the entire article Can God's people be counted on to stand up for truth? A few nights ago Miss California chose to honor God, and take a stand for traditional marriage before a TV audience of millions. The truth - and her relationship with Christ - was more important to her than a temporal, earthly crown. It may have cost her a beauty contest, but in the minds and hearts of millions of Americans, she is 'Miss USA', no matter how the judges ruled. A few days before, another woman - not as young or attractive - ignored the snickers, sneers and jeers of Britain's pop culture, and courageously demonstrated it was worth pursuing her dream no matter what anyone else thought of her! If America is to recover from the elevation of Godless secularism over the last 70 years, and the debilitating agenda of the current administration and out of control congress, Christians must do as Carrie Prejean and Susan Boyle did. If we do not, we will find ourselves consigned to an economic, moral, spiritual and political wilderness that one would never wish upon anyone, let alone their children. That is the challenge to America's Christians. Will we stand, or will we fold? Will we open our mouths, and speak truth, or will we continue to be intimidated by misguided policy makers, the self aggrandizing, the deceived, the intolerant, and the morally challenged? None of these are insurmountable giants to be left to guide public policy for their own pleasures and agendas, especially when America's Christians stand shoulder to shoulder in the voting booth and town councils! The eyes of faith. . . or the lens of fear Bob Gass, in the April 21st "The Word for You Today" writes, "When you get right down to it, there's very little difference in people, but the little difference amounts to a big difference, and the little difference is attitude; it determines whether you see life through the eyes of faith or the lens of fear." When those around Joshua and Caleb "saw only giants and wanted to turn back", Caleb said, "If the LORD delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us."" Numbers 14:8 When God's people seek His Face, turn from their wicked ways, and live courageously, confidently, and boldly to honor and glorify Him, He honors and blesses them. . . and heals their land! Cf. II Chronicles 7:14 Does our God 'Delight in us'? When we Shrink back from honoring Him openly, publicly, and courageously? VOTE for candidates for public office who openly defy God's laws? Ignore our citizenship reponsibility to VOTE? Look the other way when we see evil being condoned? Choose to wait for the rapture instead of occupying until He comes? Refuse to speak truth in public meetings, forums, and legislatures? Remain silent when we should speak up and take action? Refuse to support and work for candidates who hold our values? Remove pastors from their pulpits who wish to speak openly and clearly into the culture? Does He "Delight in us" when we do these things?

We can get our condoms and birth controls, Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles. But the Ten Commandments are not allowed, No word of God must reach this crowd. It's scary here I must confess, When chaos reigns the school's a mess.. So, Lord, this silent plea I make: Should I be shot; My soul please take! Dear Brothers and Sisters for Life and Purity,

I hope and pray all finds you well. In this issue are my reflections on our work, prayer request, information on donations and request for your assistance at upcoming events [Father Pavone is coming!] Please keep up your diligence in praying, writing and coming to events. As the above scripture tells us, this is difficult but our rewards will be enormous.

Oregon's Right to Life Annual Conference in Wilsonville (8:30 – 5:30) Saturday, April 4, 2009

We would love your assistance at our table on Saturday. Lila Rose the student who exposed Planned Parenthood and their racist agenda and covering up of child rapists will be at the conference along with Michael Clancy the photographer who took the picture of the baby in the womb holding the hand of the surgeon (See Picture). Prayer Vigil for 40 Days for Life (12:00 pm) Saturday, April 4, 2009, MLK and Beech St

Reflections on the Last Two Years

Our effort is now over two years old. The movement started on February 27, 2007 at the King Center after a faithful young lady notified her pastor that Portland Development Commission was working with Planned Parenthood to build a very large facility to kill babies. The meeting at King Center was conducted by Willie Brown a community leader with Pastor Hardy of Highland Christian, Assistant Pastor Chuck Lindholm of New Song, Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers of Immaculate Heart and a handful of other faithful citizens including myself.

I want to share with all of you what a blessing this has been. Yes there have been challenges and attacks but the blessings outweigh all of the tribulations put forth by the Evil One. One of the greatest blessings is getting to work with so many people who I did not even know. Thanks to all of you who have worked so hard with prayers, letters, marches, pickets, prayer vigils and words of comfort. I want to encourage any of you who are debating getting more involved to step in and meet some of the most wonderful faith filled people you have ever met. You will also know that deep in your hearts that you are really doing the Lord's work by saving the precious innocents in the womb and the innocence of our youth.

My thanks is not limited to those in the area but to all of the national leaders who have helped us like Jim Sedlack of American Life League, Dr. Alveda King the niece of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rev. Clenard H Childress of L.E.A.R.N, Priest for Life and many other pastors from around the country who have helped us. I am also very grateful for those at Oregon Right to Life and Life Support of Oregon.

Special thanks to the religious media including Ed Langlois of the Catholic Sentinel and John Fortmeyer of Christian News Northwest. Ed and John have written many great articles and their papers have produced some sharp ads.

Our movement would not still be going strong if it were not for the churches and the clergy in the area. I am very thankful for Archbishop Vlazny's column on Planned Parenthood and the preaching and support from many churches and religious organizations including: Holy Rosary, Northeast Community Fellowship, Immaculate Heart, Upper Room Church, Holy Redeemer, St. Stanislaus, Our Lady of Va Nang, Life Change, Maranatha, St. Charles, The Madeline, Cathedral, Our Lady of Peace, Ukrainian Bible Church, St. Cecilia's Life Group, various Knights of Columbus councils and many others. Hopefully more of the faithful will get involved.

Good Friday, April 10, 2009: Prayer Vigil at Lovejoy Abortion Center at 25^th & Lovejoy 12:00pm – 3:00pm. The Lovejoy is currently the busiest abortion center in the state and your prayerful presence will be appreciated.

Standing In The Gap? The day of our accounting has arrived March 29, 2009 ""I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads, says the Lord God." * Ezekiel 22:31 The events of the last several months reveal the reality behind contemporary American culture. Stephen Williams of Prepare The Way says, "These are sobering times. The rate at which our country is moving away from a Biblical worldview is increasing dramatically. In all cases, we find ourselves on a culture train going the wrong direction, fast." Gary Bergel, in his March Prayer Commentary said, "I believe it can be summed up in one word, "corruption," and points us to Ezekiel 22.

Ezekiel 22 - The Parallel of our day Six times in the first 13 verses of this passage on God's judgement of Israel, the shedding of blood is given as the primary reason Jerusalem and the nation of Israel were under judgement. "Now thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city?" vs. 2 "The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself." vs. 3 "Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the nations, and a mocking to all countries." vs.4 "Behold the princes (rulers/leaders) of Israel, every one were in thee to their power to shed blood." vs. 6 "In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit lewdness." vs. 9 "In thee have they taken gifts (bribes) to shed blood;" vs. 12 "Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee." vs. 13 Immediately, and in summation of the people's bloodguiltiness, defilement, and corruption, the God of Israel said. . . "Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it." vs. 14 Will we endure in the days that God deals with us? The time for America's judgement has been determined by the people of America, as it was in Israel. We-the-people are responsible for our decisions to participate in sin, as well as choosing Godless and dishonest leaders, both spiritual and governmental. God said the people of Israel had 'caused thy days (of judgement) to draw near,' and 'art come even unto thy years' (the fulfillment of the time of their judgement), for her wanton disregard for life. Because of our slaughter of 50 million innocents since 1973, and daily murders of every kind; choosing leaders who tolerated - even encouraged - the slaughter, moral depravity, and the worship of pleasure and money, God has made us, as He did with Israel, a 'reproach unto the nations, and a mocking to all countries.' We have become 'dross' to the God of heaven and earth, to be melted in the furnace for His purposes. "The house of Israel is to me dross...As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it, so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you." vs.18, 20 We have no one to blame but ourselves for our 'corruption' and for what is coming upon America. He has withdrawn His hand of protection on America and all who do evil, from the lowest amongst us to the highest officials in government who refuse to humble themselves and honor God in their decisions. vs. 13 "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God." Ezekiel 22:30-31 Our Father, our hope is in You, and in no other, neither in ourselves. We have forgotten You in the good times and looked the other way as Your eternal truth has been ignored for the convenience of men. We beg Your mercy as You heat the furnace of your fury to melt us, remove the dross, and draw us to you in humility and brokenness. Forgive us LORD for taking Your grace so lightly. for believing that we could slaughter the innocent, engage our lusts, and elect those who would look the other way. Lead us back to you in repentance, and obedience. Reveal to us now oh LORD, how we can 'stand in the gap' in the days and months ahead with courage and conviction. Lead us in our heavenly and earthly citizenship to Your glory. May You once again be exalted, and may many come to You that they might be saved. In your Name we pray. Amen. * There are those who say the Old Testament is not for our day, that the New Testament supercedes it. I Corinthians 10:6, written of the Jews in O.T. times, says, "Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted." God does not change.
